The Japanese Obon season is almost over.
Today is August 16, the day, people say, on which the lid of the hell’s boiling pit is open and the residents of the hell are out here in our world so we need to be careful. Buddhist monks and old people just say “Don’t go out on August 16!” My father is very pious and superstitious. He insists we shouldn’t go out on the day.
Well, fortunately we didn’t have to go out today. I spent most of the day for reading. I’m currently in Narnia. 😀
