Art on Tuesday: In Early Summer

Very beautiful. 🙂
It got so hot here today I thought about turning on the electric fan or even the AC. Seeing a cool beauty is much more economical and sophisticated, I guess. 😉

Japan Kaleidoskop

earlysummer This is again a painting of one of my favourite Japanese ukiyo-e artist Itô Shinsui (1898-1972), 伊東深水 . It shows a beautiful woman in early summer of 1933. She is holding a fan in her hand and is slightly melancholic. Her kimono is showing the colors bright green and water blue with some summer flowers.
